New Music Friday (7/10): Sam Bruno, Years & Years, Beach House, NeedToBreathe Little Boots, Santigold
Another week of transition for the music industry, as the introduction of global release day follows hot on the heels of Apple Music’s rollout, and a packed week for THREEE’s roster. Al Shux co-wrote and produced Sam Bruno’s “Search Party,” which was the lead single from the Paper Towns soundtrack. Kid Harpoon co-wrote four songs on Years & Years’ debut album, including singles “Desire” and “Take Shelter.” Chris Coady produced and mixed Beach House’s new single “Sparks,” which came out last week. Dave Sitek produced and co-wrote “Let It Grow,” his newest release as Maximum Balloon featuring Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and bandmate Tunde Adebimpe of TV On The Radio. Dave Tozer produced NeedToBreathe’s “Brother” featuring Gavin Degraw, which is climbing the Billboard Hot Rock Songs chart and currently sits atop the Billboard Hot Christian Songs chart. Chris Carmouche mixed five songs on Little Boots’ new album Working Girl. Rich Costey mixed Santigold’s return single “Radio,” also featured on the Paper Towns soundtrack.
